This petition is initiated by one ordinary Filipino citizen. Philippine former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was one of the highest approval ratings as President. Meaning, majority of Filipinos were satisfied and approved his leadership including fighting terrorists, oligarchs, corruptions, covid, build build build, war on drugs, and among others.

Majority of Filipinos believe that his arrest and detention in ICC is politically initiated and motivated by his political opponents to silence him and erase the Duterte's in Philippine political scene so their personal interests and old habits will continue.

Filipinos felt safer during his term because of his war on drugs. Many drug lords and addicts were killed, imprisoned, surrendered, and rehabilitated. Many were also hiding and afraid to commit crimes because they know what will happen to them if they are caught.

So streets were safer and there were more peace and order than the previous administration and current administration.

Citizens were aware by the killings, and we were aware that most, if not all, were legitimate ones. There may be some innocent lives affected but mostly are criminal ones. In any war, there will be always few civilian ones that will be affected, but if the battle is winning, majority will benefit from its results, long lasting peace and order.

So as an ordinary Filipino citizen, who saw his leadership and the better changes that happened in our country during his term, it is disheartening that the current government surrendered a former President, a Filipino citizen to a foreign court, ICC, which is not a member of it anymore. 

Prior to his arrest, FPRRD has been vocal about the current corruptions and irregularities of the present administration. PRRD has no active crime cases in the Philippines. Davao City is also one of safest and progressive cities in the Philippines when he was a Mayor for decades. His political opponents who are vocal and against about his war on drugs were convicted of some crimes and losers from the previous elections. If credibility is being considered, FPRRD is most credible than all of his political opponents and most trusted by majority of the Filipino people. 

If you are one of the Filipinos or even foreigners who saw the good governance of former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and that his war on drugs was effective and legitimate, comment and sign in this petition to International Criminal Court to free Duterte now who is already 80 years old, as soon as possible.
