The Issue

  • He was misidentified, targeted, and convicted based on how he looked, not hard evidence. During the trial, the presiding judge, Hon. Edward McLaughlin, made disturbing remarks about Dionis’ appearance—specifically how the “peak of his hat” drew attention. These comments, documented in the court transcript, show that visual perception and bias—not facts—played a role in convicting an innocent man.

Since 2011, Dionis has endured abuse, harassment, and isolation while remaining focused, mentally strong, and creatively active. He’s continued writing music and holding on to his identity in hopes that the truth will one day free him.

His family, friends, and the entire NYC community stand behind him and know he is innocent. We are speaking out because his case deserves to be re-examined.

We are asking for:

An independent investigation into his case
Legal review of the judge’s biased language and court handling
Support from innocence organizations and legal advocates
Media exposure and public awareness to bring attention to his story

Over 4,000 days of life stolen—without real proof.

Let’s stand together and demand justice. Every signature helps push this back into the light and one step closer to bringing Dionis home.
