In 2018 Apple TV bought the rights to the Peanuts holiday trilogy It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

How many of us remember as children the kickoff to the holiday season being the airing of It's the Great Pumpkin? How exciting it was? How it started the countdown to Christmas? How we passed the tradition on to our children and how excited they were?

These classics are generational treasures. They had been on broadcast television since the 1960s. Now because of Apple's greed future generations of children will get to see them only if their parents have a subscription to Apple TV. This simply means that millions of children will not get to enjoy the same warmth and excitement that we felt when these programs came around every holiday season.

Apple makes claims about being a societal-conscious company, so why would they do something so heartless? Well, it is because they are greedy hypocrites that is why. This is not short-sightedness to be sure. There was an initial outcry on Twitter which prompted them to make the programs available on PBS the first year they owned the rights, but did that make them change course? NO! They want to force people to buy Apple TV, and so today the only way to enjoy the programs is with a subscription!

The solution is not to buy the DVDs as a workaround. The solution is to put a stop to the unbridled greed of these companies that comes at the expense of the greater good of our society.
