Free Battites Wesley from Prison

Free Battites Wesley from Prison
The Issue
Dear Tony Evers I am petitioning you to free Mr. Battites Wesley inmate number #64380. He is an African American Male who has been in prison since he was 19 years old. He has been incarcerated in the Wisconsin State Prison system since 1974, he is now 67 years old. Mr. Wesley goes up for parole on May 25, 2022. Please advise Mr. John Tate who is the chairman of the Wisconsin parole board to release Battites Wesley after 48 years In prison.
1973 Mr. Wesley along with 2 others (who has since been released) was convicted of murdering an white off duty police officer at a bar in Milwaukee, WI.
Even though Mr. Wesley was not the shooter, he understand how serious his actions were and has asked God to forgive him of his sins. He has spent more than half of his life in prison. The crime was committed when he was still a teenager, he is now an elder man, and we believe that it is time for him to be released from prison. Mr. Wesley has been pleading with the Wisconsin Parole Board since 1986, 35 years of being told NO you are still a risk to society. Over the years he has worked hard to change his life around. He has became a pastor, and even help found the Victim Awarenesses Program at Columbia Correctional Institution in 1999.
He has watched several lifers go up for parole and get release yet he is constantly told that no and that politics play a major role into why he can't come home to his family. He is told that no Governor wants to go on record for releasing a cop killer. Since Jonh Tate is currently under fire for approving the release of a white male convicted of stabbing his wife to death in front of their kids, after he only served less than 25 years in prison. Where is the justice for ALL? Why must Mr. Wesley continually get denied release?
Wisconsin state may see a cop killer, but We see a human being who made a mistake while he was still kid. Battites is a son, a father, a granddad, a grate-grand dad, a brother, an uncle, and most of all a man who has grown wiser. Everyone deserves a second chance to right their wrongs, and this includes Mr. Wesley. He has an entire family who is supporting and pleading for his rehabilitation into the free world. We will no longer sit idle while waiting for y'all to see that he has changed, we won't give up until he is released from prison.
A prayer from Mr Wesley, 'I pray that God keeps giving me the strength, and life to return to my family, and to make amends to those that I have harmed , mentally physically, and emotionally... Amen!
Sincerely, Mr. Wesley's Loved ones
We the undersigned desire for Battites Wesley to be released.
