Free Bangladeshi Protesters in UAE

Free Bangladeshi Protesters in UAE
The Issue
To His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and the UAE Government,
We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon Your Highness and the UAE Government to pardon the Bangladeshis who have been sentenced for standing up for justice in Bangladesh.
These individuals, who traveled far from their homeland in search of better opportunities, found themselves in a helpless condition as Bangladesh government launched unprecedented brutality on the students who peacefully assembled for fair job opportunities. The students have been subjected to brutal attacks, killing, torture and arrests. The expatriate Bangladeshi community in the UAE, feeling helpless and distressed by these events, sought to show their solidarity with those students. The individuals, who are sentenced, their actions were driven by a deep sense of empathy and justice.
Call for Mercy:
We believe that the UAE, a nation known for its progressive vision and humanitarian values, can show mercy and compassion towards these individuals. By granting them a pardon, Your Highness would be affirming the UAE’s commitment to justice and sending a powerful message of hope and solidarity to the international community.
Humanitarian Aspect:
These prisoners are sole breadwinners for their families back in Bangladesh. Their prolonged imprisonment not only affects them but also plunges their families into deeper poverty and despair. Granting them pardon would allow them one more chance in life to live with dignity.
We humbly urge Your Highness to consider the following:
Peaceful Intentions: Their protests were aimed at highlighting legitimate grievances.
Humanitarian Impact: Their release would have a profound positive impact on their families and communities across the world.
Our Request:
In light of these considerations, we earnestly request Your Highness to:
a. Grant a full pardon to the Bangladeshi protesters who stood up for justice.
b. Facilitate their safe return to their workplaces without any delay.
Your benevolence in this matter would not only bring relief to these prisoners and their families but would also reinforce the UAE’s reputation as a beacon of hope and justice in the world.
By signing this petition, we stand in solidarity with these passionate individuals and their families, and we appeal to the UAE’s esteemed leadership to show mercy and uphold the values of justice and compassion.
Thank you for your attention and compassion.
