On January 10, 2024 in Starkville Mississippi, disaster struck. Campus police for Mississippi State university unlawfully detained and arrested a fan in a banana costume for celebrating a huge win after the Mississippi State men’s basketball team upset 5th nationally ranked Tennessee. Understandably so, this “banana dude” rushed the court in celebration like any die hard would, but law enforcement on site arrested him right then in there, handling him with excessive force. His banana friends were also detained that night. This is inexcusable behavior from local law enforcement and by signing this petition you could help us move forward to ensure justice for this man in a banana costume and hold local authorities accountable.
