Frederator Studios Needs To Give An Update on Bee & Puppycat: Lazy in Space.

The Issue

The point of this petition is not to tell Frederator to release all the episodes now, we know making a show and releasing it takes time, we simply want an update. All we want is some acknowledgment from Frederator on the state of the show instead of giving us fans the cold shoulder as they did with season one (which caused many fans to not even come back to watch the rest of the show.) We want Frederator to give at least a small update or new trailer, or whatever they can give us, whether that is in an article, YouTube video, or even a social media post. There is a group of hardcore fans who love this show to death and want it to thrive but feel Frederators lack of information and silence will inevitably cause the second season to not do as good as it could. Sign this petition if you would like to see Frederator give an official update on the state of Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space, and officially acknowledge the delay from 2019 to 2020.

Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space is the second season to popular indie online cartoon Bee and Puppycat which gained great fame after the pilot aired as a part of Cartoon Hangovers, Too Cool Cartoons series. The pilot gained enough popularity to start and fund a Kickstarter to allow for the creation of a 10 episode first season. In June 2018 Frederator Studios formally announced the second season of Bee and Puppycat, labeled a new series, called Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space. Fans were ecstatic as this would be the first new content in years, as the last episodes of the first season were released in late 2016. The series was scheduled for a 2019 release, and in October of 2018, another trailer was released. Everything seemed to be going well, while there were no official news or press releases, keen-eyed fans noticed that Frederator, the creator, and other staff often released small clips, stills, and concept art on their social media accounts. Though a lot of people never saw these.

The problem is that there were no official press releases or widespread updates in 2019 except for one. The one was a press release stating that the first episode of Lazy in Space would premier exclusive at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and that it did. A short clip was also available for people who viewed the article. The problem is that this article contained no information for viewers who did not attend the Animation Festival, and caused confusion as people thought the date in the article would also be the date the first episode would release publicly. Other than this article there have been no new updates in 2019 and the official Bee and Puppycat Twitter and Tumblr have gone silent. Even Frederator's official social medias have gone silent and refuse to mention Lazy in Space.

2019 is now over and we are well into the first month of 2020 and there has been no announcement of the show being delayed, all the official websites and social media still have 2019 plastered all over them as the release date. This is problematic as due to there being no widespread information being given on the release of the show, many fans assumed that the show was canceled. Instead of Frederator giving updates, many fans took it upon themselves to compile YouTube videos, Twitter threads, and Tumblr posts to hopefully spread the word that the show was not canceled and that according to the creator’s Natasha Allegri, the show finished production in December of 2019.

We as fans simply want an update on the show, we do not want to rush things or be rude, but Frederator’s silence has upset many of us who wish to see Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space reach the potential it can. Sign this petition if you would like to see Frederator give an official update on the state of Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space, and officially acknowledge the delay from 2019 to 2020.

(Note the point of this petition is not to harass Frederator or any staff from the show, we fans simply want some sort of update, whether that be big or small.)
