The Issue

After watching ITV's Fred and Rose West: Reopened there was a reference to a derelict farm site that the series explored on the outskirts of Berekely, Gloucestershire where Fred West may have disposed of victims whilst working as a builder.

In the documentary, evidence from Janet Leach repeated claims Fred West told her there were ‘another 20 bodies to be found’, while another source in the documentary, West’s former employers Wendy and Derek Thomson, said that while in prison he had said he had ‘done something in Berkeley’.

ITV’s documentary crew say they believe they have narrowed down the Berkeley reference to 'a farm' on the edge of the Gloucestershire town, but the owners would not let them investigate further- they only need to lightly investigate their land and the use of a cadaver dog.

A search is important as this would enlighten a new investigation with Gloucestershire Constabulary to commit a warranted search for the missing bodies of potential victims of Fred West. After several decades the victim's families need closure, and there needs to be justice. After the search of the cafe, the ITV team had 95 other possible locations, not only in the southwest but across the country.

We ask for open and explorative cooperation from the site owners for ITV to continue their investigation professionally at the farm.
