Save and Restore Baskin High School Building

Save and Restore Baskin High School Building
The Issue
It is time for us to step up and save the this Historical Building Baskin High School has been a community focal point since its construction in 1925 - 1926. It was deemed "significant" in the area of architecture. Baskin High School educated four generations of my family so it is very dear to me.
The loss of this building will forever alter the community of Baskin. Most of this community spent their learning years within these walls. Plays and music activities were held here and we all came together and had a great time. Ballgame nights were really special, everybody knew each other and visited while cheering for the children. When there was an illness in the community, the school was where we all met to help the family in need.
Baskin High School is not just a brick and mortar structure. It is Tiny Tarbutton, Margaret Franks, James Wiltshire and Allie Beth Brown. There was a feeling of family when you were in the classrooms. We were not just a name on the attendance sheet. These teachers knew and had educated our parents before us and there was just a different feel in the classes and the way we felt about each other.
That grand old school building is us. The clock is ticking and time is running out to save Baskin High School. Please help save and restore our history.
