Blue Corner House Railroad (at the corner of Henderson Ave and John St in Old Thornhill) has been one of the most welcome additions to the community in years. 

The owners have lovingly invested significant amounts of time and money to create a fun Railroad/Train experience for residents old and young alike.  This attraction fits beautifully into the area and offers an experience (and especially in this day and age, an escape) for those to marvel at the wonders of ever changing scenes and characters that come to life.

Sadly however, one local bad apple has complained about the zoning infractions of the Railroad experience and the City of Markham Bylaw office was forced to investigate.  Today the owner, who goes by  'Weesh', was served a notice that he has to take down the railroad by July 1st.

To say this is devastating to him and the area would be an understatement.  This does not hurt anyone, in fact, quite the opposite - it brings joy and wonder to 99% of those who pass it.  My kids love Weesh, love what he has done, and would be heart broken if this had to be removed - as would hundreds (if not thousands) of others.

Make your voice heard!  Do not let this happen!  As taxpayers we have the right to say what we want and do not want in our neighborhood - one rotten apple should not sour the bunch for everyone else.  The city is going far too much 'by the book' and not looking at the greater service Weesh and his wife are offering to the community, out of the kindness of their own hearts, and pocketbooks!
