Franco Manca claims to use ‘properly sourced’ ingredients but they have refused to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment - a set of standards designed to improve animal welfare.

Many of Franco Manca’s competitors are signing up to the Better Chicken Commitment to publicly state their commitment to higher welfare for animals in their supply chains. These are meaningful standards that provide a better quality of life for chickens. It is designed to combat the worst forms of suffering that these birds endure at the hands of companies that prioritise profit over their animal welfare responsibilities.

Chickens from farms that don’t meet the BCC standards live a life that simply isn't worth living. They've been genetically selected to grow so fast that their internal organs can't keep up. They're often left in pain, struggling to walk, or even completely immobilised, unable to access food or water. They live in sheds crammed in with thousands of other suffering individuals, on top of layer after layer of their own excrement.

Leadership at Franco Manca has refused to engage with calls to address animal welfare in its supply chain.
