Recognize Community Heroes with a "Child Protection Workers' Day"

My name is Michael and I am a survivor of child abuse. Although what happened to me is unfortunate, I find it incredibly uplifting to know there are thousands of child protection workers in the St. Louis area who devote their lives to seeing that abused and neglected children receive the love, compassion, and support they deserve.
Child protection workers serve children’s agencies in a variety of roles—foster care manager, child therapist, volunteer coordinator, executive staff, receptionist, researcher, etc.—but the common denominator among them is a dedication to improving the lives of children. Although child protection workers hear terrible stories every day and have a largely thankless job, they continue to remain upbeat and labor diligently on behalf of the children they serve. These child protection workers are heroes and their selfless efforts should be recognized.
Child protection workers work long hours for modest pay because they are passionate about making a difference in our community. By signing this petition, you can thank them for their dedication and commitment. Please join with us in proposing that the city of St. Louis institute a “Child Protection Workers’ Day” to honor those who work tirelessly on behalf of children.
