Fox New's Liz Trotta Apologize!

The Issue

Liz Trotta was irresponsible in her comments aired on Feb. 12, 2012, when she stated that women, “in close contact” with men should “expect” to be sexually assaulted, while serving in the U.S. Military. These statements reflect poorly on our nation's military and are unfair, at best. We the undersigned, ask Fox News - News Corp., to compel Ms. Trotta to issue a personal apology for her broad, erroneous assertions. As a prolific supporter of the U.S. military, Fox News must support the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces by holding news commentators accountable who make inaccurate assertions about the alarming increase of rape and sexual assault in the U.S. Military. Especially at a time when the Defense Department, along with elected officials, and sexual-assault prevention advocates, are working tirelessly to stem the current tide of these crimes, which significantly detract from our nation's military readiness and warfighting capability.
