We should not let the media decide who has and doesn't have a top tier campaign. Whether you support another candidate or aren't even a Republican doesn't matter. Americans should be able to agree on that simple statement.

Unfortunately, that is in effect what the networks are doing by creating "undercard" debates. They are telling voters which candidates are qualified for their votes based on inaccurate polls with large margins of error. This disenfranchises voters by giving them false information and leads them to support some candidates over others.

Recently, FOX Business determined they would exclude Rand Paul from the main debate stage based on these faulty polls. According to the Real Clear Politics average Rand Paul has 4.0% support in Iowa which is statistically tied for 5th place with Chris Christie (4.3%) and Jeb Bush (4.3%). Given that the margins on the most recent four polls were between 4% and 5% a difference of 0.3% is clearly not significant enough to exclude a candidate.

Therefore, we petition FOX Business Network to revise their previously announced debate lineup and include Rand Paul in the main debate Thursday night. This is objectively fair based on the polling criteria that FOX Business Network set and in line with other adjustments that networks have made for past debate lineups.
