Fight for Rocky

Fight for Rocky
The Issue
Although the update has been posted , I leave this up in hopes that anybody who is in the same position knows to keep fighting no matter how wrong people try to make you believe you are.
Furthermore , I pray that at some point a change is made in the system. I should not have spent 5 days away from my fur baby when I knew where he was the SECOND day. My personal testimony and the neighborhoods should have been enough. This could have prevented the current trauma Rocky is dealing with.
Hello everyone, I'd like to take this time to tell a story.
Rocky is a young, 12 month old dog that went missing on
Saturday (12/18/21) from his home in Southeast Visalia.
He had on a collar with a bone, and a dog tag that
identified him and his owners phone number. His owners
quickly got to work looking for him - printing pictures,
posting flyers, and canvassing the neighborhood for
their lost friend.
While canvassing the neighborhood yesterday (12/20/21)
his owners recognized Rocky's wine in a backyard in the
neighborhood. The owners approached the house and
saw Rocky through the backyard fence scratching and
pawing at the wood, wimpering. The owner rung the
doorbell to the home and was met by Cassy. She
was informed of the missing dog and asked if she had
seen him, she then said "no." When confronted about
Rocky being in the backyard (it should be noted that
Rocky was visible during this conversation from the front
door at the backyard glass door and he had a shock
collar on that was not there before) Cassy said "oh yeah,
my boyfriend brought that dog home a couple of days
ago". The owner told Cassy "well yeah, my dog went
missing a couple of days ago, that's my dog. Can I have
my dog back please?" Cassy laughed in the owners face
and closed the door.
From this point Visalia Police was contacted where they
responded to Cassy's address. Once Visalia Police
contacted Cassy she presented to them a solid, light-
colored Chihuahua and stated this was the ONLY dog
she had. This dog was not the dog that Rocky's owners Saw, and , As the picture below shows Rocky had a very distinct coloring pattern
Visalia Police provided Rocky's owner with a case
number and said their hands were tied as long as there is
no video/picture proof that Cassy has Rocky in her
possession. Rocky's owner was unsatisfied with this
result and quickly took to social media about the matter.
A search party if you will was formed with Rocky's owner
and some friends and they took to canvassing the
neighborhood again later that night at midnight. While
canvassing, they noticed that Cassy had a small
sounding dog locked in her backyard in the 40 degree
weather. He was actively barking from 12:40 AM to 1:15
AM and was at one point shocked with a shock collar
(video attached of dog yelping in the cold while being
shocked).
Today, (12/21/21), Rocky's search party was back at it
again around 1 in the afternoon, showing their presence
in the neighborhood and at Cassy's residence. On
multiple occasions throughout the day Rocky's search
party tried to contact Cassy at her door and offer a $400
cash reward for Rocky back.
While active in the neighborhood the following was
found:
- An elderly couple walking in the neighborhood was
aware of the situation due to social media (Nextdoor
App) and noticed that a dog looking exactly like Rocky
had ran out of Cassy's garage on 12/20/21 sometime
around 12:30PM. He was followed by a young girl,
presumably Cassy's daughter, and retrieved, then taken
back into the residence.
- Cassy's next door neighbors contacted her/her
boyfriend (Ricardo) and informed
them that the search party was active in the
neighborhood. The neighbor, who is also rumored to be
related to Cassy (this was correlated by multiple
neighbors in the neighborhood), th en approached the
search party and said that Cassy informed her that she
would contact Rocky's owner. The neighbor also stated
that she knows Cassy has one light colored dog (the one
presented to police) but has heard "dogs barking". Note:
DOGS, not A DOG. The neighbor was adament in saying
"She said shes going to call you guys, I'm sure you'll get
your dog back."
- Cassy never contacted Rocky's owners.
- After a desperate attempt to contact Cassy for a final
time, she contacted Visalia Police and they responded
for the third time. She informed them that Rocky's
search party was trying to gain entry into her garage.
Rocky's search party had documented each approach to
her residence, and only knocked on Cassy's garage door,
as they could see shadows in the living room yet were
met with no answer at the front door. Rocky's search
party was warned for harassment and didn't approach
the residence anymore.
- Cassy's boyfriend returned home roughly 20 minutes
after VPD left.
- Rocky's search party called it a night.
- Roughly 30 minutes after the boyfriend being home,
Rocky's search party passed Cassy's residence and
noticed her car, that had not moved all day, was
suddenly gone.
** Rocky's search party is asking for overwhelming
support from the community in helping reunite him with
his family. They don't want any violence, any vandalism,
or any negative confrontation - purely the return of their
family member.
Rocky is believed to still be in the house
Located in Visalia, CA with The lady and her boyfriend. In
order for VPD to be able to take action they need video/
picture proof of Rocky's presence at the house. Ring
doorbell/camera footage is appreciated. Someone must
know the family - do you know if they've mentioned a
new dog?
The $400 reward is still on the table and the family is
looking to raise it. Don't let this die here, don't let
Rocky's family lose their only pet days before breaking in
the new year and a christmas.
