In May 2015, Sonnet Films, an independent film company announced their intention to release a fan-film dedicated to the Alien Series. Entitled 'Alien Identity', the film would be based 14 years after Aliens and focus on the character of Newt and star former cast members who portrayed the characters of Newt and Colonial Marine Frost. Fox has since elected NOT to allow this popular fan film to go ahead and ordered a cease and desist on the film's production.
