The corner of Narrows Avenue and 83rd Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is lacking proper traffic signage. Last week a teacher from our school community was seriously injured while crossing this intersection when he was struck by a car. Requests to install proper signage on this corner have repeatedly been denied by the Department of Transportation. This corner is not only lacking proper signage, but also a proper crosswalk in an area that is directly across from the most utilized entrance to one of the largest high schools in NYC, Fort Hamilton H.S. Every day, literally thousands of students, parents, and teachers are put in harm's way when trying to navigate this corner. 

Signing this petition will allow us to bring this dangerous intersection, which has been the site of many past accidents, to the attention of the city council. Our hope is that they will partner with us to advocate for the installation of proper signage and/or traffic lights.
