On Friday the 11th of October at the 2019 Forrestfield United Senior Presentation night. It was announced that not only was the name of the club being changed but so too was the emblem.

This was a decision made without any consultation with the clubs members whatsoever. Members who, many of which, have been apart of the club their entire lives. 

After a short speech explaining the proud history of the club and the meaning of the current emblem, that history was then thrown straight into the trash with the idea of "modernising" our logo. 

For me personally, when I look at the badge it represents everything this club has given me. Lifelong mates and a place to call home in the darkest days. It inspires me to want to give back. To teach the next generation at the club so they may too grow to love the game and love the club. So they can also take advantage of all the opportunites this club can offer. 

When you decided to throw that away you were making a bigger decision than I believe you realised. You threw the soul of this club in the trash and said that it's your way or the highway. That the history means nothing and that the opinions of the members mean nothing. 

I believe that if this was put to a vote, it would not have passed. So on that note, I am requesting that the decisions to change the name and change the logo be each put to a vote at the next AGM. 

If I am wrong and the members do wish to change it, then I can accept it. However to change it without consultation with the members is unacceptable and an insult to everything this club means and stands for.
