I am personally writing this petition as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), who often feels unappreciated, overwhelmed, overworked, and frankly, underpaid. As a CNA, our work is demanding both physically and emotionally, yet the compensation hardly reflects this. By requiring all CNAs to become compact licensed or certified across all states, we hope not only to enhance our profession's mobility but also the quality of patient care in our nation.

Secondly, it's about time that our salaries got an increase. As of 2020, the median salary for a CNA in the U.S. was merely $30,720 annually (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2020). Compared to the level of care we provide, and the physical and emotional demand of our work, this is far too low. We are the backbone of our healthcare systems and it is about time that our pay reflected the value we bring every day.

Join us in demanding legislators to form council/board for CNA’s, enact legislation mandating compact licensing for all CNAs and a pay raise to reflect our work's real worth. Help us change the conditions for CNAs and the quality of patient care nationwide. Please sign this petition.
