High Commissions of London, Birmingham and Manchester have very little Sylheti individuals working there. We have many talented Sylhetis who are well educated so they must be given an opportunity to work for the embassy. Local recruitment must be more transparent to represent the British Sylheti community. Though 95 % of these diaspora come from Sylhet District, at the moment we find less than 3 % local staff of London, Birmingham and Manchester High Commission are from the Sylhet District. When they employ local staff, they do it internally and they do not advertise these jobs although there is a procedure to advertise them. This is a huge discrepancy and discrimination against the British Sylheti community. If the High Commission advertises the job vacancy, then members of the British Sylheti community can apply for the job and can get recruited through an open competition. British Sylhetis will in turn help Bangladesh develop and prosper. Our British Sylheti community can engage more with Bangladesh and they will also improve the service as they will be more understanding and will communicate much better with NRB’s.

লন্ডন, বার্মিংহাম এবং মাঞ্চেস্টার হাইকমিশনে পর্যাপ্ত সিলেটি স্টাফ নেই। এদেশে অনেক প্রতিভাবান সিলেটি রয়েছে যারা শিক্ষা-দীক্ষায় অনেক এগিয়ে রয়েছে। আমরা েমনে করি নতুন প্রজন্মেরেএই সিলেটিদের হাইকমিশনে কাজ করার সুযোগ প্রদান করা প্রয়োজন। এতে ব্রিটেনে জন্ম নেওয়া প্রজন্মের বাংলাদেশের প্রতি সংযোগ তৈরি হবে এবং হাইকমিশনের সেবাগ্রহণকারীরাও পেশাদারিত্বমূলক সেবা ও সহযোগিতা পাাবে।
বর্তমান উপর্যুক্ত হাইকমিশন সমূহ যুক্তরাজ্যে বসবাসরত প্রায় ৯৫ ভাগ সিলেটিদের তুলনায় নগণ্য (আনুমানিক ৩ ভাগেরও কম)। এদেশে হাইকমিশনে নিয়োগ প্রক্রিয়ায়  অভিযোগ রয়েছে যথাযথভাবে প্রচার-প্রচারণা না করে স্থানীয় নিয়োগ কার্য সম্পাদন করা হয়| আমরা মনে করি এটা  বৈষম্যমূলক।অবিলম্বে সিলেটিদের প্রতি বৈরী আচরণ বন্ধ করে হাইকমিশনসমূহে অগ্রাধিকারভিত্তিতে সিলেটি নিয়োগ প্রদান করা হউক
