Ford Focus Radio Problems
The Issue
As a first time car buyer I picked a 2013 Ford Focus. I was very excited to be buying my very first car only to find out that my experience with this car would not be so good. I purchased my car August of 2015, soon after that I began having problems with my radio. I took it to the Ford dealership and they reset my radio. It worked for a little while then went out again, by that time my warranty was up. On a 3 hour trip I began experiencing loud popping and crackling noises from my speakers. I was completely scared out of my mind because I did not know what was happening and I actually thought my life was in danger, so much so that I didn't even want to drive my car back home. I even emailed Ford Motor Company explaining my situation, no response and it's been a few months. As of right now my radio will not even come on. I checked to see if maybe the fuse had blown and it had not so I'm thinking it's more of an electrical problem. Ford will charge me $100 to diagnose the problems and then even more money to actually fix the problem. I began to research this problem and noticed that I was not alone in this issue. Many people all over the world are having this problem and sadly Ford refuses to step up and take responsibility for their product. We, the customers, are expected to pay hundreds of dollars out of our pockets when this seems to be an issue that a lot of people are having with this car. I would love for Ford to take responsibility and I would love to just switch out and get a new car but sadly I don't have the finances to do it. This has made my first experience with a car a terrible one and I just hope that we all can come together and make a change for the next future Ford Focus buyer. Something has to be done.
