Ads on YouTube are a massive annoyance. And the main way people dealt with it was using an adblocker. But now YouTube has implemented adblock detection to their site so when you try and watch a video with an adblocker enabled. You are told you have 3 videos to watch before it won't let you watch anymore. 

YouTube allows almost anyone to create an ad while making it be as long as they want (I have seen an ad that was a 20-30 minute video). It may not be as abused as YouTube's copyright system. But it still needs to be fixed as it affects a much higher amount of people than the copyright system. The copyright system affects, mainly, content creators. While the Adblock detection affects everyone who uses YouTube on a browser with an adblocker. 

I believe the best way for YouTube to do right by the community is by allowing adblockers in their Terms-Of-Service and by creating a system that is ran by humans to see which ads should be allowed on the site. The system would check that the ads are for a product or service and if they are 15 seconds MAX. Then YouTube will have to make it so that ads are only shown at the beginning and ends of videos and never during unless the video is really long (the minimum for ads during the video is 45 minutes). Plus make it so only 1 ad is shown.

The reason I think now is the time to act comes down to this reason. We need to show YouTube that the viewers are sick and tired of them not doing anything to their broken systems. And that we are sick of these completely unnecessary ads. If we can show that we want this system fixed. We may be able to get YouTube to get the copyright system fixed.
