Hello,
The city has to explain to the public why they refuse to answer my questions about the land swap.
At the City Council Meeting on September 10th 2019 Councilman Pico, President Skorman and Mayor's Chief of Staff Greene each stated that my questions about the land swap had already been answered.
That claim was not correct, in fact my questions have still not been answered today.
What is the estimated cost for a drainage study for the section of the Barr Trail that is on the land that we acquired from the Cog Railway?
What is the estimated cost for the actual drainage work?
What is the estimated cost for all needed stabilization work on the trail?
What is the estimated cost for all obstacle removal and repair of washouts?
What is the estimated cost to repair all erosion damage on the hillside?
What is the estimated cost to replace the fence that is along the trail?
What is the total estimated cost for all needed repairs on that land?
If the city has some justification for refusing to answer these questions please say so, and explain why the people's right to oversight is not valid in this matter.
I asked these very questions during the public comment process, by refusing to disclose the liabilities that came with this land, the land appeared to be more attractive than it actually was.
The city was required to perform a public comment process before approving the land swap.
Is the City Council not offended by the fact that the land was misrepresented before the land swap was approved?
Were City Council members deceived, or did they know?
The city must admit that the public process was flawed and that relevant financial information was withheld.
Thank you, Carl Strow
