THE LAND SWAP HAS TO BE REVERSED!

Here are my comments for the City Council today: Good afternoon, The land we acquired from the Cog Railway in the land swap was appraised at around $1.3 million. Over $200,000 has already been spent doing repairs to the Barr Trail on that land, and between half a million and one million dollars’ worth of work is still needed. Please tell me how the City could believe that this appraisal is valid. The public has a right to know the cost of the needed repairs on that land. You just spent $5 million repairing the Incline, and the Barr trail is the only route down. Why do you refuse to even mention the needed repairs to the Barr Trail? Does the City ever intend to repair the trail? What is the estimated cost of the drainage study that is needed? What is the estimated cost of the blasting and other obstacle removal on the trail? What is the estimated cost to repair the erosion damage, once the drainage is fixed? What is the estimated cost of replacing the fence? I do believe that not all members of council understood the problems with the appraisal when the deal was approved. But I am sure that you all do today. You may not lie to the public and you may not perpetrate a fraud on the public. You know that at best a mistake was made, and you are each legally required to inform the public of this fact. Did the City conceive of the land swap to harm me, or my interests? Mayor Suthers says that harming Carl is good for the community? Are the City and Save Cheyenne conspiring to do lasting harm to me on an ongoing basis? If you have such evidence, the land swap has to go. I am aware of all of your excuses in this matter, and that is not valid legal justification to betray the public. It is not admissible in court, and you have no documents authorizing you to act this way. You are not above the law. You are in fact in violation of the law. The terms of your seat on the City Council require you to represent the interests of the people who elected you. You have no legal justification granting you any exception in this matter. Are the Federal Government and the local District Attorney's Office pressuring the City to reverse the land swap? My god, why would you fight them? What is so magic about this land swap? You are not acting in the best interests of our City.
