PETITION: to the Minister of the Ministry of Primary Industries to approve and declare the proposed ‘HINEMATIORO MĀTAITAI RESERVE’ in the TE AITANGA-Ā-HAUITI IWI-HAPŪ of the Pourewa Island Ōpoutama aka Cooks Cove areas at Tolaga Bay, to benefit TANGATA-MANAWHENUA & Others.

The Hinematioro Mātaitai Reserve is about sustainability for our kaimoana and iwi-hapū-land-owner cultural right & interests in spite of the current High Court claims to our entire Hauiti-coastline by Te Runanga o Ngati Porou and the cultural-significance increases manawhenua rights in regard to commercial fishing.

Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti Iwi requests your help with this petition, which is designed to invite/accept support from any iwi or nationality. 

We would like to try for 1000 signatures by Monday 24th May, also presenting as evidence to the Waitangi Tribunal Tues 25th May.
