For Positive Progress In Kew Gardens Hills

For Positive Progress In Kew Gardens Hills
The Issue
Kew Gardens Hills is very unique but desperately needs more housing; which explains why the cost of homes is so high. The area has been practically unchanged for the past hundred years with only a few new developments. The demand for quality housing in our neighborhoods is outweighing the supply which is why we are seeing our young families and in some cases older families move to Long Island, Five Towns for example, for more affordable more modern homes and amenities
Most people in Kew Gardens Hills have been living in their houses for 30-40 years, children move out, and now they need something with less maintenance, or where it will be taken care of for them.
Young professionals, newly married couples who are predominantly Jewish with a big percentage of them being Bukharian are moving out of Kew Gardens Hills, Fresh Meadows, Forest Hills and Rego Park because they cannot find a place where they want and can afford to live in our communities; we are driving them out into other areas because of such a high entry level cost.
The developers of VP Capital Holdings are offering a solution to these issues by building new modern developments with amenities our neighbors find desirable and comfortable. Not only that, the developers live in the communities they are developing there by assuring our neighbors of sound quality of life. Current development projects underway in Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens and Kew Gardens Hills.
Unfortunately disinformation is being spread by the neighborhood pertaining to the development site on Vleigh Place in Kew Gardens Hills, calling it an “Eight Story Mega Tower”, which is usually referred to 70-80 story towers. This development will have only 119 apartments, out of which 60 are 2 bedroom apartments, however it will provide many benefits to the community.
- Local walk to shops, decreasing car traffic
- 30% affordable housing out of 119 apartments
- 1 bedroom apartments $1500
- 2 bedroom apartments $1900
- 3 bedroom apartments $2300
- Modern Swimming pool available for community use
- Valet service for residents and store shoppers
- Parking Lot
- Short Term Parking for shoppers
- 130-200 parking spots depending on time of day, providing parking relief for the surrounding area
- Free Parking for Residents with chargers for electric vehicles
- Service doc for Hatzolah use, Move In/Out, Deliveries
- Service Elevator / Mitzvah Elevator for Observers of Sabbath
- Over 5,000 SF outdoor space on second floor for resident use (Sukkot, and other Mitzvah Use)
We ask that you please sign this petition in favor of this development on Vleigh Place in Kew Gardens Hills with your name and address, so that our children don’t have to drive to Long Island to use their facilities and pool and so that our young families have modern affordable residences right here in Kew Gardens Hills, thereby bringing in more tax revenues for the town and county instead of moving out to Long Island and New Jersey.
We welcome the community to suggest a name for this new building which many people will be proud to call home and ask once again to please sign this petition in favor of this proposed building. You are also welcomed to attend the Community Board 8 Meeting on 3/23/22 which serves Fresh Meadows, Kew Gardens Hills, Jamaica Estates.
