For justice in the case of Wade Steven Wilson
The Issue
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
We ask you to read this text to the end to understand why we are doing this.
This petition is about Wade Steven Wilson, a 30-year-old man from Florida. Wade was accused of committing a double murder of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz on 07.10.2019 and sentenced to death in August 2024.
Wade was seriously mentally ill at the time of the crime and was not treated. In addition, he was unfortunately massively addicted to drugs.
He is not the only one who has received the death penalty after a questionable trial. In this petition, we demand that the death penalty be withdrawn for the following reasons:
- The crime was committed in 2019, when the jury still had to decide unanimously in favor of the death penalty. Due to the corona pandemic, however, his trial was postponed to June-August 2024. In April 2023, the law on the death penalty was amended. Since then, the death penalty no longer has to be decided unanimously. So if Wade Wilson's trial had been before 2023, he would have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
- Wade's cell phone, on which there was evidence, was demonstrably passed on to the police, where it disappeared.
- If you read the testimonies and see the trial, you will see that there are a lot of contradictions. We link both at the end of the text.
- The best friend of one of the victims testified in court that she did not see any red flags on Wade when she left around 6 a.m. She even made sure with her friend if it would be okay if she would leave, she had no concerns. That morning, Kristine Melton died in a gruesome way. She was found in her apartment, wrapped in bedding and knotted clothes. There was DNA on the knots of the clothing that could not be assigned to either Kristine or Wade. Who are the DNA ́s from? Shouldn't something like this be clarified in a trial about the death penalty? At 07:10 a.m., Wade was already caught in Kristine Melton's car again on cameras near the house.
- His lawyer fell asleep during the trial. There was no real defense.
- Yes, Wade confessed to the crimes shortly after the arrest. In a state of drug withdrawal and severe mental illness. He testified that he was forced to confess and that something else would be done to his family. Almost at the same time as his confession, his parents' house burned to the ground, allegedly a cable fire.
- Wade testified that he had dealings with people from a drug and human trafficking ring and that he did not murder the women, but was tricked. He further testifies that a lot of evidence was on the cell phone, which disappeared from the police.
He testifies that he lived in the Keys with E.B. and the head of the whole thing is supposed to be his mother.
What speaks for Wade ́'s statement being true?
- Wade says that his ex-girlfriend's spa is used for prostitution purposes. In fact, you can find out that it is often the case in Florida. She testifies in a phone call with Wade herself that on the evening of the crime she had the whole car (Wade later drove away with this car) full of stuff. The car that his ex-girlfriend had received as a gift from a man for 80,000 dollar.
- E.B., for whom Wade says he worked, is currently in custody and is accused of stealing boats, making them unrecognizable and repainting them. He then offered them for sale on online platforms.
Furthermore, E.B.'s mother and the wife of the judge who convicted Wade own a girls' club. - Witnesses testify that they saw a blue and silver car and a blonde woman.
- Wade was driving a black Nissan that morning. However, the tire tracks at the place where Diane Ruiz was found did not match the tires of the car Wade was driving.
This is only a small part, because everything would go beyond the text frame.
Please don't get us wrong. What happened to the two women is really terrible and we are infinitely sorry. But there are simply enough reasons why Wade Wilson's statement could be true and then the murderer would still be free. Everyone should at least be given the opportunity to a fair trial, but Wade was denied this.

Since Wade ́'s appeal is currently underway, he is dependent on donations. We expressly distance ourselves from private fundraising campaigns on this case.
