Taking a wild animal and locking them in cages and inclosures for humans pleasure is cruel. I understand that a majority of the animals that live in zoos are endangered but it is possible to place the animals in a private habitat where no one can harm them instead of placing them on display for everyone to see. Just like us, those poor animals deserve their freedom. When it goes as far as a endangered gorilla getting shot in its own habitat because of a mother who was not paying attention to her child that is when you know it is time to close these places down. Have you visited a zoo recently?? Tell me, do the animals look happy to you? No, not even close. Imagine, being locked in a room full of Windows and everyone walks up to look at you and there is nothing you can do about it. No privacy, no space, no escaping. You wouldn't like it right? So why is it any different for these poor animals? They have feelings, just like us. They deserve a better life than what they are given and with everyone's help we can make a better life for them. This is a cruel world we live in and if we want to make a difference then we need to start today.
