On the night of January 9th, my dog Horus went missing. I filed a lost dog report with the local animal control and the local Humane Society shelter in my area, as well as emailed them pictures of my unique baby. I followed up with both places and was told no dog in their custody matches my dog’s description. In February, I found out from a friend on social media that the local Humane Society had adopted out my dog. I had not thought to check their Facebook page because they said they didn’t have him, even with the photos I sent them. Animal control cannot help me. The Foothills Humane Society thinks they did everything they could to get my fur baby back to me and won’t admit to their error. They even removed his adoption announcement and photo from their Facebook page since I contacted them. (I do still have the screenshots of the original post.) I just want my Horus back. Please sign this petition so that the Foothills Humane Society and the Polk County NC Animal Control can take the measures they need to to return my dog to me. Hopefully bringing this to light can stop this from happening to another family again.
