Hi all
If you haven't heard already, we have made significant progress on this matter. What started about 3 weeks ago has been the saddest situation our game has seen since the inception of the A league.
Nothing new to people who have seen the negative press for many generations and the unfairly targeted bad wrap we receive. Guilty of nothing more than wanting to see our game treated as fairly and reported as such, from bias media corporations with financial interests in other sports.
As a last ditch effort a third party was involved (we have our suspicions, who this maybe) in organising all 10 Active Supporter groups to sit around a table and nut out a resolution with Football Federation Australia.
I would like to let you know of the progress to date. The FFA and supporter groups rep's last night had a marathon meeting which went for many hours. What was said is anyone's guess but you can't deny the facts of what the demands were, negotiated and a solution going forward.
Without stating what they are, I have attached the FFA statement so you can see for yourself the resolution which was made.
I would like to thank each and every one of you supporters, whether in active support for your club, non active support for your club, it doesn't matter. We are all in this together. We just love Football. We have made the sporting nation of Australia sit up and take note.
What we did was show what we can do in coordinating such a hard fought, well organised and methodical approach to change an injustice. Every single other sports code in this country could never, ever pull together such passion, to organise such a result, no matter how hard they tried.
Thanks to the FFA also for finally listening and I'm sure will use this as a steep learning curve for the future. To people like Bozza, Adam Peacock, Fozz, Kevin Airs, Simon Hill, Uncle Les, Individually Brilliant Ned, wow there are so many others who fought the good fight for us and I'm sorry if I left you out.
There are just so many people in this family and as a once other proud Aussie once said, I love youse all.
To see FFA go into bat for us immediately today on twitter when a Neville Nobody, negative journo once again tried to disgrace our game with a ridiculous statement made of this decision. I have never seen this before and I've been following this game for over 40 years. I do hope this is a sign of things to come.
I really have to thank a few more people here because without them we wouldn't of had the unity of a whole code across the country which ultimately made our sport turn a corner. I believe Simon Hill said it a few days back that we will look back on this time and remember it as a fond memory. When we as a passionate and loyal bunch, finally took control back of our game.
The haters are gonna hate but now we have shown that we are way above their petty name calling, self righteous slander and racial taunts. This won't ever change but the way we deal with it has changed for ever.
As a final mention we must really thank Rebecca Wilson, The Daily Telegraph, Alan Jones and Ray Hadley. Without their misguided and failed attempt at bringing our game down, they actually found our Achilles heel. There was no unity between the fan base and FFA.
So thank you Rebecca, Alan and Ray for bringing our family together once again, we couldn't of done it without you.
Now let's show Australia how big a sport we are, how loud and passionate we are, we are here to stay and nothing they can do will ever bring us down again.
Bring on the weekend, lets get out there and show how good our game really is. Let's fill the terraces across the nation in a united stand for the game we love.
I'm sure the great Johnny Warren would be looking down
with a wry grin of all the goings on of the past few weeks, wondering what all the fuss was about with all these Sheilas, Wogs and poofters and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Throws his head back with a little smirk then...
"I told you so."
