Even though it is a small town, Stanley has a large customer base of people who eat.  With over 3,000 residents in the city, the surrounding area is also served by local businesses in town.  In the Spring of 2021 we lost the larger of only 2 supermarkets.  The small store remaining has done a good job of trying to meet the needs of its citizens but the size of the building along with its parking area is woefully insufficient.  Currently many of us are forced to go to grocery stores farther away and it has created a hardship.  Please sign this petition in support of inviting another store to come into town and relieving the burden placed on the currently undersized Food Lion.
