In this petition we are asking from FIU to change the way Panther Book Pack works. Currently and without official notice it works as follows:

It is automatically activated (spends your grant money on all books for all classes and charges an extra $20 convenience fee) 

This affects students that don’t want to buy the books for certain classes because either they are online or can borrow them from a friend. Not only old students are affected by this change but specially new incoming students coming this fall. This is a scam aimed at these students and even though might be changed later will successfully steal a lot of money from them in the meantime.

We are asking for this option to be disabled by default and an official email from FIU should explain how it works and how students might be able to benefit from it. As it is currently implemented it is a scam from FIU towards his students and this is unacceptable.
