It is sickening how many animal cruelty cases have hit the news. What's even scarier is that there are even more cases that don't make the headlines. One case in particular caught my attention.
Recently here in Florida a 17 year old beat a PUPPY to death with a stick! According to news sources,(Click here for the news coverage of this case) the teen was trespassing on the pet owners land which is where the brutal attack took place.
It's bad enough that there are individuals who own or have direct contact with animals that they abuse and neglect - Now we have to worry about someone trespassing and harming our pets. Just like we have the right to see the sex offender registry for the purpose to protect our children, we should have that right for our pets.
I am a pet owner myself, and like many others, my pet's are my kids. We need to make noise about this! This is NOT okay!! It is time we take action, raise our hands (or paws) and fight for the protection of these living beings!
We ask ourselves "Who could do such a thing?" It is believed that the signs of a sociopath is the lack of remorse or guilt, impulsive violent behavior, and the lack of social morals. Is they are doing this to a defenseless animal, what makes you think they won't do this to a human?
