Free Doc Frasch

The Issue

On February 22, 2014, Tallahassee resident and Thomasville podiatrist Dr. Adam Frasch started his day as a successful medical professional, married to a beautiful wife and the father of two. By the end of the day, he had lost his wife to murder, his kids were in the care of child services, and he was being harshly interrogated in connection with his wife’s death.

It went downhill from there. The highly-publicized case of Samira Frasch’s death should have led to public sympathy, but instead, local detectives and state investigators ignored that he had an unassailable alibi for the time of his wife’s death and instead created a bizarre, unsubstantiated story of domestic tyranny.

Dr. Frasch should have never even been a person of interest. Consider the following:

At the same time Dr. Frasch was seen by a neighbor arriving in Panama City Beach--a two and a half hour drive from his home-- back in Tallahassee, Samira Frasch was seen alive on the driveway by neighbors, Matthew Christiansen and his daughter, Lauren. Half an hour later, the family's handyman was calling 911 saying he had 'found' Samira in the pool.

Samira Frasch had no pruning on her fingers and toes, which showed she had been in the water a brief time when first responders arrived shortly after 11 AM. Her husband could not have put her in the pool. He had left at 8 AM and phone records showed his steady progress to Panama City Beach.

Handyman, Gerald Gardner, who allegedly found her, immediately told police that Samira Frasch had been murdered by her husband. This was inconsistent with the scene. She was at the bottom of the pool and it looked like an accidental drowning. Later, when her head was shaved, an autopsy would show injuries to her head. But these injuries were not discernible to first responders and there was no external bleeding to suggest it had been murder.

During the trial, State prosecutor Georgia Cappleman relied on the handyman's testimony and a prison snitch, despite that both were clearly perjuring themselves. Consider just one example:

Prison snitch, Dale Folsom, said at the trial Dr. Frasch confessed to him that he had struck his wife with a golf club before putting her in the pool. The eminently more credible medical examiner, however, said Mrs. Frasch’s injuries were not consistent with a golf club.

I am asking Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, to free an innocent man.
