A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land that is usually dry. In the sense of "flowing water", the word may also be applied to the inflow of the tide. Floods are an area of study of the discipline hydrology and are of significant concern in agriculture, civil engineering and public health.

Floods have large social consequences for communities and individuals. And most people are well aware, the immediate impacts of flooding include loss of human life, damage to property, destruction of crops, loss of livestock, and deterioration of health conditions owing to waterborne diseases.

Flooding also occur due to garbage that is not disposed of properly in its left alone, so when it rains, the garbage that is thrown in and the wrong bin can cause in blockages in the canals and cause flooding. And also floods can happen during heavy rains, when ocean waves come on shore, when snow melts quickly, or when dams or levees break.
