We, the undersigned residents of Key Biscayne, respectfully request that the Key Biscayne Community Center offer adult flamenco dance classes, including the opportunity to have classes taught by Carmen Rubio, a professional flamenco dancer and instructor.

Since opening its doors on October 30, 2004, the Key Biscayne Community Center has played an important role in bringing our community together and providing residents with opportunities for recreation, wellness, culture, and personal enrichment.

Flamenco is much more than a form of dance. It combines music, movement, rhythm, artistic expression, and cultural tradition, while also providing an enjoyable form of physical activity and social connection.

There is genuine interest among women in our community in participating in adult flamenco classes with diverse providers and schedules. We believe this program would be a wonderful addition to the Community Center’s adult offerings and would further its mission of serving the diverse interests of Key Biscayne residents
