Fix the visual glitches created in The Sims 3 when the Mac version was updated to 1.70
The Issue
EA, please fix the stability issues and visual glitches in the 64bit version of The Sims 3. The following list are some of the most obvious and persistent glitches/bugs I've come across:
-Consistent game crashes.
-The screen turns red once the camera is zoomed out a certain distance.
-Terrain paint is basically useless now as trying to use it results in all terrain paint on lot disappearing and very little of what you try to add actually appearing.
-There's a red square line/border around all profiles and object icons.
-Certain types of collectables and collectables in certain locations cannot be interacted with.
-There's a red line/border along half the screen as if for a different screen resolution.
-In map view, map tags sometimes flash red; sometimes map tags will not show up at all.
-Sometimes the screen will obnoxiously flash red and white while in map view. When this happens, map view is useless.
There may be more, these are the most persistent ones. These glitches/bugs make the game difficult to play, which seems counterintuitive to updating the game to run 64bit. Running a repair of the game in Origin sometimes fixes some of the problems, but they often return again later.
Since the switch over to the very glitchy EA App, it's difficult to play any EA games on Windows. This is especially true of older titles. Since I had the ability to do so, I switched to playing this game on a Mac when the EA App was rolled out and have found many glitches (stated above) that did not exist when I could get the windows version of TS3 to run (which I no longer can). Please fix these problems and make this game smooth to play again. And I think it should be stated that the EA App needs fixing, too. Both for being able to access and run older games that are owned in a given persons library, and for being able to run the app at all sometimes.
Given how it's been stated that Mac will eventually be switched to this new app as well, this glitchy 64bit update of The Sims 3 and the state of the current Windows operated EA App does not inspire hope for the future of how functional EA products will be moving forward. There are those of us who still have a little hope for it. However, there needs to be a reason for us to trust that things will not continue to worsen.
