This might as well not be a crosswalk because most drivers treat it as optional. Recently someone stopped for me and my wife and my 3 kids and then as we started crossing they sped up. I realized later they were looking at their GPS, not at the road. This is just one of many close calls at this crosswalk.  And it needs to be fixed to have a manual push button and flashing lights. 

What is the plan? 

I have filed for a hearing with the Needham Traffic Safety Committee.  I am going to present my case to the town for change.  But I need your help. 

1) show that I’m not alone and that this is a neighborhood issue. Please sign the petition. 

2) present video evidence of cars not stopping for people in crosswalk. 

3) FOIA request police citations of cross walk violations over the last five years to make the case of more police enforcement at this intersection 

4) Present the case at the next traffic safety hearing in early June  

5) Continual (and relentless) focus on getting his crosswalk to be improved.
