The in-person ticket pull system at Texas A&M is outdated and fails to adequately serve its student body.

The Texas A&M vs. University of Texas ticket pull exposed several significant issues with the current process. Many students camped out immediately after the football game, collecting hundreds of sports passes to pull tickets on behalf of others. This resulted in groups as large as 800 securing tickets simultaneously, disregarding classification and seniority—despite Mondays being reserved for seniors. This practice undermines the intended system of prioritization based on classification.

Additionally, some individuals have exploited the system for personal profit by charging others to pull tickets on their behalf. Hundreds of guest tickets were also pulled, reducing the availability of seats for Texas A&M students.

This lack of fairness, organization, and respect for fellow students does not reflect the values of the Texas A&M community. A modernized and more equitable approach to ticket distribution is necessary to better serve the student body and uphold the spirit of the university.
