I am a resident of Raichur, a town in Karnataka, India, and I am bringing to light a critical issue that has long been neglected. One day, while I was commuting, the ever-present potholes and degraded road surfaces resulted in an accident that was terrifying for me. A simple ride through the city turned into an alarming experience an incident that is not uncommon in our area. The roads of Raichur, encompassing major thoroughfares and inner city lanes, have deteriorated significantly over the years. Large potholes, cracked surfaces and poorly maintained roads are a common sight. Commuting in this town is a daily nightmare for residents. These road conditions disrupt day-to-day life and lead to increasingly common accidents. They also contribute to increased vehicle wear and tear, putting additional fiscal strain on our community.  We cannot allow such conditions to continue. It’s time local government and authorities take urgent notice of Raichur’s neglected roads and commence immediate restoration works. Raichur deserves safe, smooth roads just as much as any other city in the Republic of India. We are calling upon the local governing bodies to allocate necessary resources for the repair and maintenance of roads in Raichur.
