As a huge fan of both Fortnite and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, I was so hyped when I heard Lucy was coming to the item shop. But honestly, that excitement turned straight into disappointment when I saw her in-game model in the trailers. Her facial proportions look completely off, and the overall render quality just doesn't do her justice.

This isn't just a one-off issue, either. It feels like a recurring problem with Fortnite collaborations where the character models lose the look and feel of the original series they come from. Part of the magic of these crossovers is seeing our favorite characters brought over accurately into a new game. When the proportions are weird and the face design misses the mark, it totally ruins the immersion for fans who care about the source material.

We know it’s possible to get it right because other 3D games (like Wuthering Waves) have handled models for this same series collab so much better, capturing her actual aesthetic cleanly.

Epic Games has the resources to do better. They could work closer with the original creators, take a bit more time on quality control, and make sure these iconic characters actually look like themselves before putting them in the shop.
