The Issue

Living on River Road has always been a blessing, surrounded by the serene waters and vibrant community spots like Liane’s Bike Shop and Back Water Jacks. However, an ongoing problem for over 19 years is turning this charm into an ordeal – the persistent flooding at the boat dock attached to Back Water Jacks. As a resident with a small car, navigating through the flood waters is risky and often impossible. My boat, a treasured possession for leisure and enjoyment, frequently stays ashore due to fears of rising water levels making it impossible to launch or return safely.

The flooding problem affects not just me but many others who cherish the local harbor. It's time for our voices to unite and demand action from the city authorities who have overlooked this issue for far too long. We pay our taxes diligently, expecting essential community infrastructure like this to be well-maintained and functional.

A practical and timely solution would be for the city to allocate resources and funds to not only clear the unprecedented water blockage but also implement long-term measures to prevent future flooding. Whether it's improving drainage systems or restructuring the boat dock, investing in durable solutions will safeguard our beloved recreational hub.

With collective pressure, we can make a substantial difference, urging the city to address the flooding at the boat dock at Back Water Jacks immediately. Please sign this petition to ensure your voice helps spark the necessary action and funding to preserve our community's wellbeing and enjoyment of local amenities.
