My overall international campaign reach has failed, the CSV spreadsheets don’t lie - look at the initials of this update, its the swear word!
FRUSTRATED UNITED CHAMBER KINGDOM the UK echo chamber!
Due to my disappointment about having very few international signatures, I have in protest now created a petition about change.org and the frustrating UK echo chamber! I also created the petition because I strongly oppose change.org's weekly update email trigger limit (as I often need to post daily updates due to circumstance).
https://www.change.org/p/make-global-petitions-on-change-org-global-and-scrap-the-3-email-per-week-limit - my brand new spin-off campaign!
I have deliberately aimed my new petition at British change.org users, set the scope to ‘national’ and I am urging frustrated Brits to sign that petition because change.org’s supposedly ‘global’ system is flawed, I’ve been cheated by the system and it has let me down!
Although, as someone living in the UK, I do need some British supporters such as direct contact with local members of parliament, forcing UK shops to keep Easter treats until after Orthodox Easter and getting the issue of the Gregorian Easter calendar cycle debated in the UK House of Commons, this is an international affair. This petition cannot succeed for my primary goal without official collaboration with churches, ministers, government officials and an adequate number of signatures from overseas.
My British supporters are like fat (as in diets), we all need some fat, but too much fat is bad for you – this is exactly how “unhealthy” the CSV spreadsheet data looks with row upon row of “United Kingdom” (which I have included in the snapshot above) and a general lack of international support.
After careful, detailed analysis of my “Alice in Wonderland Spreadsheets”, a staggering 93% of all of my supporters are located right here in the UK, with a total of just 24 signatures from overseas. I had deliberately set the petition’s scope to ‘global’ to avoid the regional trap I have unfortunately set myself in, I took it literally due to my autism and it completely backfired however the CSV spreadsheets don’t lie and overall my international reach has FAILED – I even have 0 signatures from British Crown Dependencies from the Channel Islands and 0 signatures from British overseas territories such as Gibraltar.
When I claimed I had “let people residing in Canada and New Zealand know” during a triumphant March 2026 update confirming my plan to celebrate on the 22nd, I had no idea that the CSV spreadsheets existed and I was not intentionally lying to all of you, my 93% British supporters. For the last three months I have unknowingly been posting campaign updates only to realise that, like me, nearly all of you live right here in the UK!
I also posted an image of the Union Flag in my March 18th update titled “I'm going to be famous worldwide for celebrating Easter on March 22nd 2026” because at the time I thought I had much more international supporters!
It was only after the recent struggle to hit 400 signatures that I accidentally discovered and downloaded the CSV spreadsheet which confirmed the bad news that I had COMPLETELY FAILED to reach Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and even the Republic of Ireland, with just two signatures from Australia (Melbourne) and five from the United States (mainly New York)!
The recent slowdown in momentum and the accidental discovery of the spreadsheets has shifted the tone of this entire campaign, until then I expected an even 50/50 divide of domestic and international signatures (I expect a significant amount of UK traction when I added the fifth non-Easter related goal about astronomical twilight which I deliberately aimed at the UK audience before realising how endemic my UK supporter base really is).
My fatal mistake of using the ‘global’ setting has “bit me on the bum”, but I have learned for next time and I encourage all of you Brits, to sign my brand new “Make Global Campaigns Global” petition about the unfair UK echo chamber and my experience my general failure to secure international signatures. I made a fatal mistake but will take it like a man and accept defeat.
Just like the Gregorian calendar system cheats Western Christians out of their earliest possible Easter dates (March 22nd-24th), change.org’s system has cheated out on me, has let me down and has left me with a shocking figure of 93% British supporters.
I did not plan or want my ‘failing global campaign’ to have over a calendar years’ worth (over 366) of British signatures and I deliberately set my scope to ‘global’ to ironically AVOID the localised/localized trap I have unknowingly ended up in!
After this promotion completes, I will use a “pause-and-resume” strategy, where I will temporarily close the campaign for a day or two, reset the scope, open it then kick-start the petition due to the lack of momentum in recent weeks - my first targeted nation for new signatures will be the Republic of Ireland due to its close proximity to the UK and the fact I have existing supporters in Belfast.
I’m just glad I was completely oblivious to the location CSV spreadsheets during “Awful April” when I thought I had a 50/50 domestic/international split and unknowingly thanked my UK supporters for their help – I would have hated to have learned the truth that I failed to reach New Zealand back in April!
Despite the high saturation of UK signatures, I do indeed have two supporters (my total Australian signature count) in Aylesbury, near where my father used to drive on my M40 Junction 11 motorway detours and the M25 (those two supporters now know they are under the approach paths for Heathrow Airport from many UK flights destinations)!
Even when I temporarily close the campaign, it is certainly not over, we just need a break so we can restart momentum and we are still working towards our next intermediate goal of 485 signatures.
The overwhelming saturation of British supporters (along with the complete lack of international supporters), as well as the lack of interest and the recent drop in momentum has been a huge blow for our campaign, however regular updates and regular promotions means that the campaign never goes truly silent, hopefully we can fix the 93%/7% ratio of supporters (even on my title text it explicitly said that “someone in Australia can sign this petition”).
UK supporters, I need all of your help to finally reach my targeted countries, and with your support, you will do me a huge favour. Uploading the image above of the spreadsheet will help you to understand just how lacking my campaign really is of overseas signatures - please help me to get out of the hated UK trap!
Mr. Easter
