Fix Easter date to 22nd March (earliest date) in either 2043 or 2054 - BEFORE WE DIE!!!!!
The Issue
March 22nd is the earliest possible date for Easter Sunday on the Gregorian calendar.
As a 33-year-old single autistic and neurodiverse man obsessed with calendars and dates living in 21st Century Kingston-upon-Thames, I am ABSOLUTELY DETERMINED AND DESPERATE to experience both the earliest and latest possible dates of Western Easter within my lifetime (which is currently impossible and beyond the limits of the human lifespan)!
"Western" Easter Sunday holds profound significance, not just as a celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection and renewal, but also as a fascinating exercise in the interplay between the solar and lunar calendars we currently use.
While Western Easter's latest occurrence—April 25th—awaits us just 12 years from now in 2038 having most recently occurred in 1943, the earliest possible date (March 22nd), however has not happened since 1818 and will not naturally happen again until the 23rd Century (the year 2285) when we are all dead! The thought of witnessing one extreme without the other leaves me yearning for balance and incompleteness in this unique observance that should be experienced by us all for our generation!
By urging policymakers, churches and government officials to move Easter to March 22nd 2043 or 2054 as (instead of March 29th) as currently scheduled would allow many autistic individuals and calendar buffs, like myself, the opportunity to witness this rare alignment during our lifetimes!
Such a move may seem silly, ridiculous and unconventional, yet as a neurodivergent individual it celebrates our shared humanity by embracing diversity, inclusivity, and understanding of personal desires and differences. As society grows towards greater inclusiveness, shifting Easter to this date will demonstrate our ability to accommodate unique perspectives, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement for those who cherish these experiences.
By demanding policymakers, churches and government officials to fix Easter 2043 or 2054 to it's earliest possible date, we take a tangible step toward creating an inclusive environment where diverse needs are appreciated and celebrated - this initiative does not intend to diminish the traditional significance of the date, but rather to adapt it, without altering its core and crafting memories that span new horizons.
To implement this change to make an impossible dream possible for living Catholics/Protestants, collaboration on a global scale and creating this global campaign is necessary with engaging religious leaders, cultural communities, and governmental officials. By encouraging dialogues that respect spiritual practices and cultural heritage, we can work towards a unified decision that carries both symbolic meaning and emotional resonance.
Join me in forcing policymakers, religious authorities, and international communities worldwide to advocate for an exceptional occasion - let us come together to ensure we all have the chance to witness one of the calendrical anomalies that bring joy and wonder to our lives!
Sign this petition to champion the celebration of Western Easter in the forthcoming 2043 or 2054 with March 22nd on Sunday affirming a legacy of inclusivity and shared human experiences which is limited and (sadly) dictated by the finite limits of the human lifespan.
Many Orthodox Christians alive today over the age of 45 have already witnessed "their" Easter on both their latest and earliest dates in 1983 and 2010 respectively (as Orthodox Easter is calculated differently using the Julian calendar) but for Western Christians, we are all denied this chance without petitions and campaigns!!
Together, we can make this rare possibility a beautiful reality which we won't miss out on and if you read a 2025 Reddit page in one of my petition updates you'll see why we need to take urgent action if we want to witness Easter on its earliest date before we all die!
Although this request may sound silly and ridiculous, at least my voice is being heard worldwide by starting this global campaign - I live in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames (as mentioned above) but someone in Australia will be able to access and sign this petition!!
This is something that really needs to change and be DEBATED IN PARLIAMENT so please sign this petition if you agree with our cause, together we will bring an official Gregorian March 22nd Easter to the 21st Century whilst simultaneously also advocating for better recognition for Orthodox/Coptic holidays in Western English-speaking countries (which currently FAIL to officially recognise these holidays unfairly causing the Orthodox minority to struggle in their everyday lives), raising awareness about autism/neurodivergent fixations and ultimately sharing my very personal and unique story about celebrating Easter on March 22nd 2026 to the world!
