Petition updateFix Easter date to 22nd March (earliest date) in either 2043 or 2054 - BEFORE WE DIE!!!!!An Easter celebration really did take place on March 22nd 2026!

Easter really was celebrated on March 22nd 2026 by four people, myself along with closest family members, so 2026 really has become the Year of Three Easter dates and I have announced it to the world!

Despite all of the money chipped in to promote this petition, it has been absolutely worth it as it has allowed me to share my story about celebrating Easter on Sunday 22nd March 2026 to 270 people which has made me feel less alone in being in an almost non-existent minority of four people celebrating on that specific date this year.

I did not dread March 22nd and was actually very excited about my personal Easter celebration, it was the two week period after that which was the most disorienting as I kept seeing signs for the “wrong date” despite trying my hardest to avoid it - the date I was really anxious about (and truly hated) was obviously the “Alice date”. I was also not dreading Orthodox Easter on April 12th as it is not even advertised in the UK and met one of my petition signers that day.

Despite my best efforts, I did inevitably see ‘Easter on the wrong date’ on April 2026 calendars in shops, parks and other locations, overheard people’s conversations about their plans for the wrong date and rail announcements for it too. April 5th 2026 (the Alice date) was a date I truly hated with a burning passion and even though its May now, I will never be able to look at an April 2026 calendar which shows ‘Easter on the wrong date’ as Easter 2026 for me will always be March 22nd!

There is a Wikipedia page titled “Reform of the Date of Easter” and now with over 270 supporters, this campaign should be mentioned on the Wikipedia page as this really is reform of the date of Easter, sparked directly by an infamous Reddit post highlighting rare Easter dates (excluding Orthodox ones).

By creating this petition, I have given the March 22nd 2026 date some form of public legitimacy despite not being recognised by any church, which in itself has been a massive achievement. By now anyone searching and using the phrase “autistic man celebrates Easter on March 22nd 2026” would be directly lead to this petition!

I felt helpless celebrating Easter on March 22nd 2026 without anyone else knowing about the “tiny non-existent minority” I was in which is one of the main reasons purchased all of those diaries and launched the campaign, because I wanted others to know about my 2026 story as well as the primary aim to fix Easter to that date within the next 30 years.

I urge all my supporters to share my story with as many people as possible to prove that for one family (mine of course), Easter really did fall on Sunday March 22nd, 2026!

Although I envy Orthodox Christians because they saw their earliest “March 22nd” Easter in 2010, I completely understand what it feels like for them and the difficulties they face in countries like the UK where there is no formal recognition. I came across this Facebook post and nearly half a million Orthodox Christians live in the UK with a substantial number in London with the number expected to rise, so this proves that we need to formally recognise Orthodox holidays before the next “disaster year”, 2035!
