Wow, despite the costly nature to keep the momentum going, we have successfully reached 300 signatures and all the people who have signed so far now know that an Easter celebration really did take place on Sunday 22nd March, 2026 and - we now only need 66 more to potentially hit every birthday including February 29th , so 366 signatures is my next big milestone which I hope to reach by June and I have changed the title of this petition to try and attract even more signatures!
Although it is now May, my life is back to normal and the most difficult time is behind me, I would like as many people as possible to know about my unique Easter celebration on Sunday, March 22nd 2026 and I urge all of my supporters to read my petition updates and to share my story and this campaign on as many social media platforms as possible (i.e. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Nextdoor etc) to maximise signatures (rather than just me promoting the petition), to reach higher signature goals faster and to eventually bring this issue forward to potentially be debated in the House of Commons, which is my ultimate goal!
Although the primary aim of this campaign is to officially fix the date Easter to March 22nd in the future for a one-off year specifically targeting 2043, 2054 or 2065, one aspect of this petition has already been achieved and that is my quaternary goal of sharing my very unique story about being “two weeks ahead” of everyone else with Lent and celebrating Easter on March 22nd, 2026, which is now a historic event I want the world to know about!
While Western Christians unfairly miss out on “extreme” Easter dates due to the unfair Gregorian lunar cycle, Orthodox Christians unfairly miss out on festive events such as Easter trails, egg hunts and approved time off work/school for their celebrations without being penalised for unauthorised absences due to the lack of official recognition for these holidays in seven shameful English-speaking regions which predominantly follow Western traditions - both of these issues are a serious matter and need to be looked into, the only way we can solve both problems is by campaigning and creating petitions!
UK school terms can restart after the two-week Christmas break as early as the 3rd of January (which happened in 2022), this is EVEN before WESTERN CHRISTIAN FEAST DAYS such as Twelfth Night (5th January) and the Feast of the Epiphany (6th January) so this lack of recognition extends even to the dominant Western calendar and similarly, standard Easter Monday is not an official public holiday all over the UK as those in Scotland have to attend school or work on this specific day, disadvantaging those north of the border!
Don’t judge a book by its cover, as although the title of this petition is “Fix Easter to March 22nd (earliest date) in either 2043 or 2054 – BEFORE WE DIE”, this campaign is so much more than just about fixing the date of Easter to March 22nd for a one-off future occasion. This is also primarily about the “complete and utter” lack of proper recognition for Orthodox/Coptic holidays in countries like the US and UK which is certainly not a new problem hence there are already numerous existing change.org petitions about this very issue (particularly concerning schools and education/examination boards).
Next year (2027), the Early May bank holiday by chance falls on Orthodox Easter Monday and the following year (2028) it aligns with the Western date so my proposed change with the Early May bank holiday will take effect from the year 2029, where the Orthodox date falls exactly one week later than the Western date (Monday 2nd and Monday 9th April).
As a so-called multicultural nation, we have taken great strides to recognise non-Christian festivals and religious observances such as Eid, Diwali, Hanukkah, Yom Kippur and Chinese Lunar New Year; yet we fail to officially recognise what is just another branch of our own religion, Christianity, and the presence of a Greek Orthodox Church in my local borough of Kingston-upon-Thames highlights damning evidence of the existence of the “invisible minority” of Orthodox Christians whose holidays are often overlooked and not officially recognised by the UK government, and the governments of six other shameful English-speaking nations!
As I always say, the five-week gap between Western and Orthodox Easter which occurs every few years is not the actual problem, rather it is in these years that existing systemic failures and the lack of official recognition becomes blindingly obvious. Quite simply by making the UK’s “Early May” bank holiday flexible to always fall on Orthodox Easter Monday, retailers listing both dates whilst keeping Easter treats for the later date and venues continuing to host seasonal events is ALL IT TAKES to better support the Orthodox community in these shameful nations! The lack of recognition is obvious and even the calendar app on my phone which I deleted fails to display Orthodox Easter dates.
I am hoping that in the long term, my story about celebrating Easter on March 22nd 2026 and “being a fortnight ahead of everyone else with Lent” becomes just as well-known as Andy Park’s daily Christmas celebrations and I want my March 22nd 2026 celebration of Easter to become a well-known historic event that hopefully people living in the year 2285 will be able to look back at!
I will confirm that I did mark the Orthodox Easter date of April 12th on my family’s homemade 2026 calendar I made for Christmas 2025 and by creating this petition, I want neurotypical people to know just how debilitating it can be to suffer from “the disease” of autism with obsessions than negatively affect the mental health of neurodivergent individuals like my experience of seeing “Easter on the wrong date” on calendars and in shops!
I have not yet managed to find YouTube video footage from the Orthodox Easter celebrations in Greece from 2010 (the earliest possible date), but have found footage from both 2013 and 2024 (two specific years Orthodox Easter fell on its extreme fourth-latest date), 2021 (the earliest-latest date), from 2008 (the difficult year) and from 2015, a boring year!
Here is some YouTube footage from the fourth-latest Orthodox Easter date in 2024! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZiY99SrqLw

My March 22nd 2026 Easter celebration is now a known story and is not hidden which I truly feared, and simply by creating this deeply beautiful and poignant campaign, it has allowed me to share my story without having to publish a news article and despite all of the money, the rising signature count has reassured me that my story has been heard, my very small minority DOES exist and for my family, Easter really did fall on Sunday, 22nd March 2026.
Although I plan on reverting to the UK’s standard calendar next year (2027), 2028 and so forth unless I convert to Orthodoxy and of course plan to celebrate Christmas on December 25th 2026 unlike my inspiration Andy Park (I am now Mr. Easter), over 300 people know about my story which has helped me during my personal struggle with neurodiversity.
Although I manage multiple change.org petitions, I have closed all my other campaigns to focus solely on this issue and hit higher signature targets and I’m hoping that this campaign will eventually be one of the most prominent and notable top change.org campaigns of 2026 (the year of Three Easters) with over 1,000 signatures!
Despite my hatred of the ‘Alice date’ (April 5th, 2026), I respect everyone else’s decision to celebrate on that date and despite envying the Orthodox community for their “extreme” dates, I respect their traditions and truly want to help them.
Our campaign’s journey:

About some of my other neurodivergent fixations in the past:
When I was a child, I loved window AC units because I used to think there was a magical land inside them (forests, castles cities etc).
I always used to want to know how fast every car or other vehicle was travelling because for me, if a car was travelling at 10mph and wasn’t making a “J” sound, I would get very upset because “J” is the 10th letter of the alphabet (I would repeat the alphabet and a car would have to be making a “H” sound if it were travelling at 34mph as “H” is the “34th” letter of the alphabet. Because of this, my 26 times table was the first times table I ever learned at age 7 (when Western Easter hit its third-latest date).
I also have had fixations about maps and wanting to follow flight paths and railway lines in cars, for instance on a car journey to Cardiff for instance, I would get my father to come off the M4 motorway at J12 near Theale and would make him drive past Didcot and Wantage before joining the M4 again at J15 (near Swindon), to follow the route of the Great Western Main Line in the car and would occasionally stop for meals. He’s the driver and I’m the navigator.
Similarly, on a car journey to Liverpool (where my younger sister lives), I would want my father to drive up to M25 and come off at Junction 20 near Watford, then drive towards Aylesbury and Cublington in Buckinghamshire before heading through Winslow and Brackley (Northants) before joining the M40 at J11 as this follows the flight path of many BA flights heading from UK destinations such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester and Aberdeen into Heathrow. Would make my father do long detours!
I also had a huge fear of the British Rail Class 159 diesel trains – during the “boring year” of 2004 aged 11 (which actually had loads of different rolling stock), I had a trip with my mother and sister to Wimbledon Park and on the way back at Wimbledon station, a class 159 train made a special stop for the tennis and when it left the revving diesel engine frightened me and I was shaking a Walls twister lolly (I had seen fast Class 159s up until then but never one accelerating from a stop). For years I would avoid Wimbledon station not realising Class 159 services only ever call there until I came across the national rail timetable website in 2015 (another boring year).
My story not being known or heard was s truly awful feeling (just as awful as April 2026) so thank you all for signing my deeply beautiful and poignant campaign and supporting me through the difficult spring of 2026.
