Revitalize WaMu Theater Seating Arrangements

Revitalize WaMu Theater Seating Arrangements
The Issue
My Reason for Taking Action: I want to go to a concert venue that provides a seating option to get a decent view of the stage. However, I cannot afford to settle for a giant mosh pit involving thousands of random people, due to my experiences as being on a spectrum.
Problem: WaMu Theater is a configuration within the CenturyLink Event Center (adjacent to the NFL Field) that has amazing flexibility in terms of a capacity range, between 4,600, 7,000, or even 9,000, depending on a configuration per event. Unfortunately, the theater also has terrible seating arrangements for several issues that revolve around, including the orchestra level that doesn't even slope due to setting up these temporary seats on the main flat floor.
- Orchestra Sections: The seating level for a reserved configuration doesn't even slope due to setting up these temporary seats on the main flat floor.
- Insufficient Seating Options: Wouldn't even allow us to purchase an online ticket to specifically take the back seat section when it comes to General Admission events in which it would force some of us to arrive about 90 minutes early just to overlook the crowd.
- Inaccessible Wheelchair Accommodations: The reserved configuration wouldn't even provide a ramp to get a decent view to sit down behind the orchestra level. As a general admission, it's unimaginable for not even knowing where to find an ADA spot in this case.
- View-Blocking PIllars: At a rare 9,000-capacity event with no seats or even curtains, this configuration would leave some of the fans at a disadvantage, when on the left or right side of these columns.
Solution: We need the operator of First & Goal to budget a plan to revitalize the seating arrangement to permit sightlines regarding the venue's capacity size, configurations, and flexibility.
- Retain the capacity size for the standard general admission (7,000) and all-reserved seating (4,600) configurations.
- Remove the unneeded pillars from the main floor and build actual walls surrounding the theater area.
- Provide multiple seating levels, including a retractable Orchestra level, which should take place between the flexible main floor and the permanent balcony/mezzanine seats.
- Make the Wheelchair accommodations accessible by providing ramps that have to take place behind and a few feet above certain levels.
Without The Victory: Thousands of us will never come back to the theater for these seating arrangement issues if the operator and the owner refuse to make plans on behalf of CenturyLink Event Center.
Benefits: Revitalizing WaMu Theater should give our local concert fans the view that they need in addition to retaining the standing room area at a reasonable size. Please sign and share the petition for the better cause of Seattle’s music scene.
