Give disabled bus pass holders a fair deal

The Issue

I, like many other people in Leeds, have an illness or disability that makes it hard for me to get around. The bus pass is a god send to many of us, as bus fairs in Leeds are so expensive that disability benefits claimants not only rely on these because it's difficult to travel in other ways, but because the cost of living on disability benefits makes paying full price difficult.

However, we can only use these passes after 9.30 am. If you have a hospital appointment before that time, or use your pass to get to work, it makes it useless.
If you're blind, this rule does not apply to you. The undersigned would like to know why this is the case, and why it discriminates against the rest of us.

First buses will also no longer force able bodied people to move from the disability access seats.

First Buses operate in many cities... in Sheffield, if you carry a disabled pass, you can use it at whatever time you need to. In London, you can use your disabled pass on national rail services for free up to a point, and also have children with you.

However, other cities have rules that vary from city to city. This petition calls on Leeds City Council and First buses to explain why blind people need more travel than other disabled travelers and ask them to rectify this unfair situation.
