The Issue

My heart aches as I witness the desecration of what has been our family's legacy for generations. We are farmers who have dedicated our lives to cultivating the land, preserving its richness, and providing for our community. However, the very foundation of this community is being threatened. Our elected officials—Piqua's mayor and council members—are supposed to be our voices, our advocates. Instead, they have turned a deaf ear to the cries of the people they are obligated to serve.

The decision to push forward with the construction of a data center, which will consume up to 2 million gallons of water daily, spells disaster not only for farmers like us but for the environment and the community at large. This abuse is being justified by labeling it an "emergency," a convenient label to bypass public scrutiny and avoid our votes. The destruction of our generational farmland for this project shows how our voices have been completely disregarded. This is not progress; it's betrayal.

We, the residents and stewards of this land, demand transparency and accountability from our officials. To fire the mayor and council members for their dishonesty and failure to listen to the people is the first step towards rebuilding trust and protecting our invaluable resources. Let’s preserve our land and our rights. Join me in signing this petition to demand immediate action and to convey the strength of our united voices.

Don't let Piqua's rich heritage fall victim to reckless and self-interested governance. Sign now for change and justice!
