I am deeply frustrated and disappointed with the mismanagement of the Norfolk Flood Project, which has escalated from an initially estimated cost of $2.6 billion to an astronomical $6.1 billion. As a concerned resident and taxpayer of Norfolk, I cannot stand idly by as our hard-earned money is mishandled in such a careless manner. I urge my fellow working-class citizens to join me in demanding accountability.

The City Manager and the Chief Resilience Officer have demonstrated a severe dereliction of duty in overseeing this vital project. Their oversight failures have contributed to a budget overrun that is nothing short of scandalous. It's time for them to face the consequences of their actions and be removed from their positions immediately.

Our City's leadership must prioritize fiscal responsibility and integrity. This ballooning budget not only affects the city’s financial stability but also undermines public trust. We deserve leaders who respect their constituents and manage our funds effectively.

The citizens of Norfolk need city officials who are not only competent but also transparent in their operations.
